great question! i'll meet with you in person, by phone, or via video chat prior to your shoot, so we have an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss how to personalize your session, and review any questions you may have. my goal is that you'll feel prepared and confident having outlined our plans and artistic vision in advance. on the day of your shoot, once we arrive at the location, we'll spend some time chatting and getting warmed up, and then dive right into taking your photos! we will typically spend between 1-2 hours working together unless we've otherwise discussed a longer or shorter session. if we are embarking on a "deep dive", an elopement, or wedding, i'll be with you for most of, if not the entire day! i'll guide you with prompts, poses, and inspiration throughout your session, and we'll share lively conversation throughout the experience. my goal is for your session to feel more like an easygoing adventure than like a photo shoot.

i'm based in humboldt county, california and love adventuring through the wide variety of beautiful landscapes of northern california. i also love to travel! some areas i visit frequently include portland, oregon and santa cruz, california - but by all means, invite me anywhere! please don't hesitate to reach out to me with your idea. chances are i'd love to make it happen!

within a day or two after your shoot, i will send you a handful of lightly-retouched sample images from our session so you can get a glimpse of the results right away. you will receive the full collection of your images within a few weeks to a few months depending on the circumstances and the time of year. if you need your photos on a specific timeline, please let me know before our session so we can plan ahead. when your photos are ready, you'll receive a private gallery link via email, and you will be able to download all the photos from the gallery, share them to social media, choose your favorites, and share your feedback with me.

it depends on which package you choose! the number of images you'll receive is outlined above in the package descriptions. all images you receive will be fully edited + lightly retouched, and there will be a variety of color and black + white images in the mix, with a preference for mostly color images (unless we discuss otherwise prior to your session). i always select for quality rather than quantity, but if we create a large number of successful photos, i may send a greater quantity than promised. of course, it goes without saying that i will never send you fewer photos than promised. for events, elopements, and weddings, we will discuss the number of finished images you desire during your complimentary consultation. this will also vary based on the duration and scale of your event.

my focus is first and foremost on your experience as the client. because i view portrait photography as a collaborative process, i treat you more as a peer and a co-creator than as a subject or model. my experience as both a photographer and as a model has taught me that when the subject feels as comfortable as possible, the images look better, feel better, and allow for the unique qualities and personal story of the person in front of the lens to shine brightly. for that reason, i go out of my way to assure that you're feeling safe, cared for, seen, and comfortable. my approach includes meeting with you in advance to walk through what your session will be like, and i also communicate with you throughout the course of the session itself, checking in regularly to get a feel for how you're doing. i can also provide as much or as little direction as you would like. many of my clients say that a session with me feels more like a get-together with a friend than anything else! i truly do know what it's like to be on the other side of the lens, and i promise you'll be in good hands!

i don't specialize in videography, but i have trusted friends who do! if you're interested in having both photography and videography coverage for your project or event, we'll discuss your needs and vision during our consultation and i can recommend a videographer if you'd like.

sure! i offer basic sessions starting at $400. this is the "quick stroll" package described above and is best for when you need just a few professional images but don't want to spend a lot of time creating them. with that said, for the majority of sessions, i recommend starting with at least the "long walk" package, as this will give us time to settle in and really bring your story to life. this is the smallest package that still offers the full experience that i am so passionate about sharing with those i photograph. for those wanting to dig deep and truly co-create an artistic vision, especially if you're wanting lots of variety and detail, i recommend the "deep dive". this package includes ample time, multiple looks and locations, and space to get comfortable and find the flow state. the "deep dive" package always produces the best results artistically and technically because it allows both photographer (me!) and subject (you!) to co-create and build on multiple ideas and visions together. if the location we choose charges a fee, this will be discussed in advance during the complimentary pre-session meeting (and don't worry, there are plenty of locations we can choose from that don't charge fees!). for weddings and elopements, offerings start at $2,000 and may increase (or decrease) depending on the specifics of your event. other special events that are not weddings, such as corporate events or birthday parties, will be priced on an individual basis depending on the specifics of the event. if you aren't sure which package is right for you or where to start, please reach out to me and we can discuss your vision together to decide what would suit you best. i'm more than happy to provide a complimentary consultation to help you select the package that will create the best experience based on your desires.

because i have a passion for increasing the representation and visibility of queer and BIPOC folks in fine art photography, i offer sliding scale pricing to queer and BIPOC individuals, couples, groups, organizations, and businesses. just mention it when you contact me if this is something you are interested in! additionally, because i believe that monetary matters should never stand in the way of great people coming together to create great works of art, if cost is a concern for you when booking, just let me know. i'd much rather work out an arrangement that feels comfortable than exclude someone from my work due to lack of funds. communication is key. reach out, and we'll find something that feels good for both of us!

nope! my photography practice is deliberately centered around the belief that every subject is unique and has their own set of individual stories to be told. each story - including yours - will be crafted from scratch, by hand, with listening, thoughtfulness, inspiration, and consideration at the heart of the experience. anything we create together will be bespoke and one-of-a-kind, always with the goal of creating and honoring a deeply personal and personalized project from start to finish. the result is a unique memory-making and storytelling experience that can only be created through the energy exchange between you and me. mini-sessions just aren't personal enough to allow my approach to shine, so i don't offer them. if you're asking about a mini-session to help you save on cost, send me a message and we'll work out a custom arrangement that prioritizes your budget without compromising on the intimacy and personalization of your photos.

the answer is yes, depending on the circumstances. i strongly believe that trades keep art alive! if you have a product or service you'd like to trade for my work, please let me know when you reach out. i am open to all sorts of trades, as long as i am interested in what you have to offer. i'm most likely to agree to trades that focus on what i'm most passionate about. primarily, this tends to be things such as handmade artisan goods, travel and adventure, and a focus on intimate and creative themes. i am especially keen on trades with other photographers and other models, and trades with local artisans who make bespoke handmade work. please don't hesitate to ask when you contact me!
