portraits are undisputedly my favorite photographic genre. it is my belief that a quality portrait has the power to encapsulate and convey a story about the subject. in my portrait work, i strive to emphasize the unique aspects of every subject's personality. i achieve this by capturing a variety of both composed images and candid shots, portraying various levels of detail, and a range of authentic emotions during every session. my method is centered around the philosophy that creating a comfortable, free environment in which photographer and subject can mutually ease into the flow state is not only possible, but essential to creating photographs that transcend the boundaries of simple documentation into the realm of performance art. the photographs that result become the cherished keepsakes of the experience.
